Job summary

CAO is seeking a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to support orthopedic surgeons in operating rooms and provide direct patient care in Maryland. The role involves preop/postop planning, injections, suturing, and fracture care, under supervision, with focus on hand and upper-extremity conditions.

Candidates should have accredited PA training, BLS, and EMR proficiency; several years of orthopedic or primary care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
• BLS Certification required.
• 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Experience in Orthopedic or Primary Care settings.
• Proficient with EMR systems and Windows Office.

Responsibilities

• Provides health care services to patients under the physician's direction.
• Examines patient and compiles medical data.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and results.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care.
• Develops care plans and ensures continuity of care.
• Counsels patients on therapy adherence and health maintenance.
• Assist in operating room with designated duties.
• Document orders and communicate with the surgeon.
