Job summary

Sports Medicine North in Peabody, MA is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients, greet, instruct and direct visitors with tact and confidentiality. You will verify demographics, insurance data and collect co-payments, while maintaining accurate scheduling and answering phones.

Role requires HIPAA knowledge, strong communication, multi-tasking and proficiency with Windows and EMR systems (Athena/Centricity or Medi-Tech a plus).

Qualifications

• HIPAA and regulatory policies knowledge required
• Understanding insurance regulations and procedures
• Medical office procedures and terminology
• Experience with electronic medical records is a plus

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in/out patients; verify demographic and insurance info
• Collect co-payments and reconcile cash
• Verify patient insurance and referrals
• Maintain appointment scheduling per office policy
• Assist with administrative tasks and testing scheduling
• Coordinate with hospitals/centers for patient care
• Pull tests as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
