Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Full-time DME/Orthotics Technician in Winston-Salem to fit and educate patients on orthotic devices, casts, and DME per provider orders. You will ensure proper sizing, comfort, and patient understanding, while maintaining room readiness and inventory.

The role uses Epic and MotionMD to verify benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, collect balances, and document services for billing compliance. Travel between locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of orthopedic bracing, DME billing and safety standards.
• Ability to fit devices and use Epic/MotionMD software.
• Strong communication and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Fit and educate patients on orthopedic devices and DME per provider orders.
• Apply and remove casts and splints as directed by providers and maintain room readiness.
• Use Epic and MotionMD to verify benefits, initiate pre-authorizations and collect patient balances.
• Document all services and payer forms to ensure billing compliance.
• Support inventory management and report equipment issues to leadership.
• Build collaborative relationships with patients, providers, and vendors.
• Ensure timely documentation aligned with standards.
• Perform additional duties to support orthopedic and DME operations.
• Provide care appropriate to patients' age-specific needs per department standards.
