Job summary

UHA University Health Associates is seeking Advanced Practice Professionals (APP) in Orthopaedics, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. The role emphasizes comprehensive orthopedic patient management across ED, inpatient, and ambulatory settings, with responsibilities spanning rounds, perioperative care, and discharge planning.

The position requires NP or PA certification, state licensure, and BLS with ALS as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training as designated by the department.
• APRNs seeking First Assist privileges must complete RNFA certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive orthopedic patient care across ED, inpatient, discharge, and ambulatory settings.
• Conducts daily rounds and peri-operative evaluations; orders tests or consults as appropriate.
• Performs and documents diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and manages perioperative care.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up with healthcare team.
• Educates residents and medical/nursing students and participates in clinical program development.
