Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery to translate the Chair's vision into execution across clinical, research and educational missions. You will drive organizational growth, improve program performance and align departments with Penn Medicine’s broader strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive administrative/financial leadership in academic medicine or similar setting with at least $15M enterprise.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and medical school research funding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership across clinical, research, educational, financial and administrative missions.
  • Develop organizational infrastructure, operating models and leadership capabilities for growth.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient access, quality, safety and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the Chair, Executive Director and senior leaders to align strategy.
