OAM + i’move Medical Assistant – Phone Triage in Muskegon, MI is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role working under a nurse or physician to gather information, triage patient concerns, and provide professional patient care.

You will handle patient calls, document encounters in EMR, assist with exams and minor procedures, and support the care team to ensure timely, compassionate care throughout the orthopaedic care continuum.

Qualifikationen

• High school education and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• CPR certification required; MA licensure or certification preferred with continuing education maintained.
• Experience preferred, but training may be provided.

Aufgaben

• Receive and respond to patient calls and messages the same day; gather information and communicate with physicians and clinicians.
• Triage patient needs under supervision, including post-operative concerns and drug reactions.
• Document encounters in EMR; maintain accurate documentation.
• Schedule tests, complete lab/testing forms, and phone prescriptions to pharmacies; prepare medications with RN/physician.
• Greet patients, take history, record vitals, and explain procedures.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures; change dressings, remove sutures, and provide CPR when needed.
• Assist patients with transfers and light hygiene as needed.
• Sterilize instruments and rooms; follow OSHA standards and dispose of waste.
• Monitor supplies, place orders, attend meetings, and maintain confidentiality.
