Job summary

Alliance OBGYN is seeking a compassionate, organized Triage Medical Assistant to support patient care through telephone triage, patient communication, documentation, and coordination with healthcare providers. The ideal candidate can prioritize patient concerns and work well in a fast-paced medical environment.

Position is part time, with the opportunity to move to full time and no weekend or holiday hours, in East Lansing, MI.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience processing prior authorizations preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
• Experience with electronic medical records and telephone triage preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to prioritize patient concerns and work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient phone calls, voicemails, and electronic portal messages.
• Gather information about patient symptoms, medical history, medications, and concerns.
• Identify urgent patient concerns and communicate them promptly to healthcare providers.
• Provide patient education and guidance according to established office protocols.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, prescription refill requests, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
• Assist with administrative tasks and support efficient daily office operations.
