Job summary

Choice Healthcare Services in Nevada is seeking a Part-Time Dental/Orthodontic Assistant to support orthodontic care by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments and materials, and by passing tools during procedures. Nevada X-Ray certification (or affidavit), BLS, and a 4-hour Infection Control certification are required, with 3–6 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college or 3–6 months related experience and/or training, preferred.
• X-Ray Nevada certification or affidavit.
• BLS certification.
• 4-hour Infection Control certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays
• Takes IOs
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Summary:The Dental/Orthodontic Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Nevada dental standards.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

• 4-hour Infection Control certification
