Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Fort Worth, TX seeks an orthodontic assistant to support the dentist with patient treatment, elastics instruction, and tray preparation. The role involves taking X-rays and impressions, assisting with bonding and debonding, and preparing retainers and bleaching trays.

The position emphasizes proactive chairside support, accurate charting, and collaboration with the orthodontist to plan next steps.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
• Instruct patient of elastic treatment
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
• Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
• Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
• Placing and cementing bands
• Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
• Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
• Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
• Taking patient initial, progress, and de-bond photos
• Taking scans of patients for clear aligners or models
