Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team in Suffolk, VA. You will support dentists with chairside assistance, manage patient records in Dentrix, and ensure a safe, efficient clinical environment.

The role involves patient education, x-ray processing with iTero and digital photography, and adherence to OSHA/CDC safety guidelines. VA x-ray certification and HIPAA training are required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, patient-centric environments.
• VA x-ray certification required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI data protection required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists (four-handed dentistry).
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room following safety protocols (OSHA/CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize workflow.
