Job summary

Suffolk Complete Dental Care in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. You will support clinicians with four-handed dentistry, take x-rays, manage patient records in Dentrix, and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment.

We emphasize patient care and ongoing learning in a collaborative setting. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a dental setting, VA x-ray certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a dental setting.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• VA x-ray certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and provide education throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures in accordance with state dental practice act.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Partner with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
