Job summary

Quince Orchard Dental Care and Bethesda Dental Specialists is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant. You will support the Dentist during procedures, prepare rooms, take X-rays, and help with patient education and records, all while delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced practice.

The ideal candidate has ortho experience, a valid MD DA license, CPR certification, and strong communication and professionalethics to build trust with patients and staff alike.

Qualifications

• At least two years of Dental Assisting experience preferred.
• At least one year of Ortho experience preferred.
• MD DA License required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with coworkers and patients.
• Driven personality to strive to provide the best care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists.
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms.
• Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implants.
• Assisting dentists during procedures by handing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients.
• Perform lab tasks as instructed.
• Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments.
• Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
• Strong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practice.

Quince Orchard Dental Care, Gaithersburg (Monday 8:40am - 5:00pm & Friday 7:45am - 2:00pm)

Bethesda Dental Specialists, Bethesda (Tuesday & Wednesday 9:00am - 5:00pm)

Dental Assisting Job Responsibilities

• Guaranteed Hourly Rate, Salary range $26.00 - $30.00 Hourly
