Job summary

Quince Orchard Dental Care and Bethesda Dental Specialists seek an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support procedures, manage sterilization, and help maintain patient records with a focus on compassionate care.

The role requires 2+ years of dental assisting experience (ortho preferred), MD DA license, and CPR certification. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered in a patient‑centered practice with locations in Gaithersburg and Bethesda.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is ready for dentists.
• Assist dentists during procedures by handing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Take and process X-rays; perform lab tasks as instructed.
• Greet patients and schedule appointments; maintain patient records and assist with payments.
• Advise patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.

Schedule

Quince Orchard Dental Care, Gaithersburg (Monday 8:40am - 5:00pm & Friday 7:45am - 2:00pm)

Bethesda Dental Specialists, Bethesda (Tuesday & Wednesday 9:00am - 5:00pm)

Dental Assisting Job Responsibilities

• Preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for dentists
• Knowledge of general anatomy of the mouth and dental terms
• Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals and implants
• Assisting dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating needs
• Taking and processing X-rays of patients
• Perform lab tasks as instructed
• Greeting patients as they arrive and scheduling appointments
• Advising patients on recommended oral hygiene
• Maintaining accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
• Strong communications skills required to deliver oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Handling general administrative and other duties to maintain the dental practice

Qualifications

• At least two years of Dental Assisting experience preferred
• At least one year of Ortho experience preferred
• MD DA License required
• Current CPR certification.
• Outstanding professionalism, high moral standards, and a self-motivated work ethic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with your co-workers and patients
• Driven personality to want to strive to be the best in your profession and provide the best care for our patients

• Guaranteed Hourly Rate, Salary range $26.00 - $30.00 Hourly
