Dental One Associates in Frederick and Columbia, MD is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support the clinical team with treatment, room setup, and patient education.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of dental assisting experience, a Certified Orthodontic Assistant credential, and X-ray certification; nitrous oxide certification and CPR are highly recommended. Competitive hourly pay and opportunities for development are offered.

Qualifications

• 1 year of on-the-job experience as a dental assistant.
• Certified Orthodontic Assistant is required.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: prepare treatment rooms and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient care: welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: ensure infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, follow regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling.

Position Overview: As a Orthodontic Dental Assistant you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• 1 year on-the-job experience
• Certified Orthodontic Assistant - Required
• X-Ray certification - Preferred
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
