Job summary

Dental One Associates in Annapolis, MD is looking for an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support our clinical team with high-quality patient care in a team-based environment.

This part-time role (Thu 9am–5pm) requires completing a one-year certified dental assistant program, being a Certified Orthodontic Assistant, and X-ray certification, with at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Certified Orthodontic Assistant required.
• Minimum 1 year of on-the-job experience.
• X-Ray certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
