Job summary

Dental One Associates in Columbia, Maryland, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team and provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Responsibilities include room preparation, radiography, patient education, and maintaining infection control. Requirements include a one-year dental assistant program and 2 years' experience; CPR and OSHA/HIPAA training expected annually.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 2 years on-the-job experience.
• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant – Preferred.
• X-Ray certification – Preferred.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
