Job summary

Lone Peak Dental Group's Oceanside Family Dentistry in Myrtle Beach is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant who loves working with kids and teens and making visits fun and stress-free. You will help create a positive, kid-friendly environment and support the orthodontic team during procedures.

Requirements include X-ray and CPR certification, at least 1 year in an orthodontic setting, and completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program (preferred).

Qualifications

• X-ray and CPR certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an orthodontic practice.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred.
• Additional certification or training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensuring smooth patient flow and maintaining a kid-friendly environment.

Requirements

• Experience with Denticon software or iTero scanners is a plus.
• Part-time role (16+ hours per week).

A Typical Day As An Orthodontic Assistant

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.

• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.

• Ensuring smooth patient flow and maintaining a kid-friendly environment.

Schedule

• Some Saturdays may be required
• Daytime hours - No nights!
