Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking an Acute Care RN to provide safe, comprehensive nursing care for a diverse patient population in a high-acuity unit. You will supervise licensed and unlicensed staff, coordinate with physicians and care teams, and participate in discharge planning and patient education.

The role requires an Iowa RN license, BLS (ACLS if telemetry), and the ability to document thoroughly, with strong critical thinking and communication skills to support our mission and

Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing is required.
Current Iowa RN license is required (Illinois license if working in IL).
BLS certification required; ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring capabilities.
Mandatory Reporter training must be completed within 3 months of hire.
Basic computer skills are required for documentation and systems.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for acute medical/surgical patients.
Supervise and coordinate care with LPNs, PCTs, and nursing team.
Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Develop and revise discharge plans; ensure complete documentation.
