Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking an Acute Care Registered Nurse to provide safe, effective care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. The role guides and coordinates nursing care, supervising LPNs and aides while communicating with physicians, patients and families.

The position requires an Iowa RN license (IL license if working in IL), BLS, and strong clinical judgment. The hospital emphasizes mission, safety and teamwork in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required (BSN preferred).
• Current Iowa RN license; Illinois license allowed if working in IL.
• BLS required; ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring is available.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong language, math, and critical thinking skills; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial admission assessment within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Develops and updates plan of care with patient problems and goals.
• Coordinates with healthcare team; communicates with physicians, patients and families.
• Assesses patient progress; revises plan of care as needed; documents outcomes.
• Manages telemetry/cardiac monitoring where applicable; responds to arrhythmias.
• Ensures discharge planning and education are provided to patients and families.
