Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to join the NT4 Orthopaedic-Urology Surgical Unit. You will deliver patient-centered nursing care on a 41-bed unit with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio, supporting hip/knee replacements and trauma cases.

The unit emphasizes teamwork with therapists, education resources, and RN support to ensure rapid patient throughput. The role includes administering meds, assisting with IVs, and patient education in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice.
• BLS certification completed within 30 days of start.
• College diploma or equivalent in nursing.
• Experience in acute care nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and IV piggybacks per RN orders.
• Documents assessments and care planning in medical records.
• Collaborates with physicians/APPs for orders and care coordination.
• Performs wound care, drains, and ostomy care as needed.
