Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to join the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit in a fast-paced setting. The 41-bed unit cares for acute orthopaedic and urology patients, with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a dedicated educator team to support continuous learning and safe patient care.

Responsibilities include medication administration, IV piggybacks, charting, and collaboration with RNs and physicians to coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse (IDFPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push meds).
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans and communicates with physicians/APPs for orders.
• Perform dressing changes and wound care as needed; manage NG tube care and feedings.
