Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduler for Cayuga Orthopedics in Ithaca, NY. This role varies daily to support physicians and staff with clinical and clerical duties, coordinating surgeries and patient flow.

Responsibilities include scheduling procedures, handling pre-authorizations, updating patient records in Medent, and assisting with check-ins and reminders. Onsite schedule Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm; pay range $20.50-$26/hr with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
• Proficient computer skills including Medent and Microsoft Office.
• Flexibility to assist other departments when needed.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate all surgical procedures and manage pre-authorizations.
• Assist with patient check-ins/check-outs and update demographics.
• Review H&Ps and surgical documents for completeness.
• Arrange labs, imaging, referrals, and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Answer calls, confirm appointments, and manage reminders.
• Handle daily cash-out and deposits; update Medent records.
• Maintain provider templates and transitions for answering service.
