Qualifications

Current RN license in state of practice.
BSN from an accredited institution; BSN must be obtained within four years of hire/promotion.
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
Unit-specific certification (ACLS, PALS, etc.). must obtain within timeframe dictated by guidelines.
One year of clinical nursing experience.
Demonstrated experience in assigned clinical area.
Demonstrated leadership experience; mentoring ability.
BSN required as of 4/27/2025; earlier hires limited by previous requirements.

Responsibilities

Provides specialty clinical expertise and participates in programs and policy development.
Educate and mentor nursing staff on best practices and new developments.
Act as consultant and liaison to care team, patients, families, and community.
Promote evidence-based practices and stay current with research and advancements.
Directs and coordinates care team; manages time, supplies, and resources.
Ensure licensure compliance, ethics, and documentation requirements.
Use assessment data to develop individualized care plans with patients and families.
Review patient responses and revise care plans as needed.
