Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Orthopedics unit in New Albany, Ohio. The role involves patient care on a 60-bed Medical Surgical Ortho unit with total joint replacements, fractures, and related procedures.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, patient education, and EMR documentation. A strong emphasis on teamwork and delivering high-quality care is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
• Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice and assist with examinations and treatments.
• Administer medications under the direction of the provider.
• Assist in emergency situations.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and diagnoses.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately and completely.
