Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center's Orthopedic Care Unit is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for night shift to supervise and deliver high-quality patient care under the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of care for orthopedic patients.

Required are a nursing degree from an accredited program, Ohio RN licensure, and BLS within 90 days of hire. SOMC offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited nursing program required.
• Licensed RN in Ohio required; BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessment and document in patient record.
• Develop, evaluate, and update plan of care.
• Coordinate with physicians and health team members on care plan.
• Initiate discharge planning process.
• Manage and coordinate patient care and assignments.
• Facilitate patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift report.
• Respond to patient needs and call lights.
• Provide total patient care.
• Adhere to policy for cleaning and disinfecting equipment per IFU.
