Job summary

OrthoNY in Latham, NY is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first impression of our orthopedic practice. You will greet patients warmly and accurately enter registration data into our EMR/PM system, ensuring smooth check-in at each visit.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This full-time, on-site position offers a Monday–Friday schedule and opportunities to grow within the practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some higher education preferred.
• Experience with EMR/PM systems required.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare next-day appointments ensuring complete data, eligibility, and insurance details.
• Greet patients promptly and professionally.
• Answer incoming calls and provide information as needed.
• Review data/forms in the EMR to ensure accuracy.
• Collect copayments and balances; reconcile daily payments.
• Utilize the OrthoNY PM system per guidelines.
• Coordinate with other departments for timely data flow.
• Close daily financial batches and generate reports.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as required.
• Distribute handouts via print or patient portal.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality; keep workspace organized.
• Travel to other OrthoNY offices as needed.
