Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield, OH seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Ortho-Neuro Unit at Fairfield Hospital. The role provides basic patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs, daily living tasks and mobility assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including vital signs, care and comfort, personal hygiene and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record when applicable.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Assists with mobility using safe techniques and fosters patient independence.
• Tailors care to patient interests and hobbies where appropriate.
