Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit at Anderson Hospital. The role supports RN staff by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Ideal candidates bring recent acute care or home health experience, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs. EPIC EHR training is preferred and offered.

Qualifications

• Must have completed one of: nursing aide training program OR STNA OR CNA OR nursing program with clinical nursing course OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean patient rooms and assist with basic needs such as feeding and grooming.
• Monitor patients' health and vital signs under RN guidance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
