Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a full-time position in The Woodlands, Texas. The role involves providing expert perioperative patient care, serving as a scrub assistant to the physician, and ensuring aseptic technique and efficient operations in the OR.

The position requires CST certification and 2+ years of Ortho Trauma or Neuro experience preferred; 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, with call responsibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or NBSTSA/NCCT certification.
• 2+ years of Ortho Trauma or Neuro experience preferred.
• Level I/II Trauma Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative patient care with instruments and equipment.
• Scrub assistant to physician during operative and/or invasive procedures.
• Work under RN direction and follow Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory.
• Demonstrate knowledge of asepsis and advanced surgical techniques in line with patient age/needs.
• Verify supplies and equipment prior to procedures and adhere to asepsis principles for optimal patient care.
• Ensure safe patient care adhering to policies, procedures, and standards within budget and time constraints.
• Serve as preceptor/mentor and provide orientation and in-service training to staff.
• Contribute to caring, compassionate, individualized experiences consistent with Memorial Hermann service standards.
