Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech for the Rockets Orthopedic Hospital OR. The role involves perioperative patient care as a scrub assistant under RN supervision, supporting orthopedic procedures.

Schedule is full time, 6:15am-3pm, Monday-Friday with no weekends or on-call. BLS required; CST preferred but grandfathered CPTs considered; 5+ years ortho experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required; CST certified or grandfathered Surg Techs considered; NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert perioperative patient care as scrub assistant to the physician.
• Assists in operative and invasive procedures under RN supervision.
• Prepares and maintains aseptic technique; ensures instruments and supplies are ready for use.
• Serves as a resource/mentor to less experienced staff and supports unit operations.
