Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a perioperative Registered Nurse to provide intraoperative care in scrub and circulating roles. The position involves neonate to geriatric care and requires call, weekends, nights, and holidays.

The role emphasizes safe aseptic technique, teamwork, and efficient preparation for cases. O.R. experience is preferred and BLS must be current or obtained within weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Current or compact RN license in Iowa.
• BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and OR team.
• Provides a safe environment by aseptic technique and by managing the environment.
• Collects and analyzes data and assesses patient in developing nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians, and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and function.
• Initiates and directs room cleanup and turnover.
• Participates in orientation and training of new personnel.
