Job summary

Carle Health in Denver, CO is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. You will participate in direct patient care for acute ortho and urology surgical patients in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

The unit operates with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and provides comprehensive support from educators and supervisors. Duties include medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, trach care, NG tube management, and care plan

Qualifications

• LPN license required and BLS within 30 days.
• Experience in acute care settings preferred.
• Ability to assist with ortho and urology surgical patients.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans; RN may open new care plans.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs for orders and coordinate care for dressing changes.
• Complete trach care, NG tube care and feedings, ostomy care, and reinforce discharge instructions.
