Job summary

Albert Einstein Medical Center is seeking a Cast Tech for the Orthopedics department to support physicians with clinical tasks and patient care. The role focuses on casting, patient education and basic clinic assistance in multiple campuses in the Philadelphia area.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and either 1 year of casting experience or 5 years of Medical Assistant work in outpatient orthopedics. A general commitment to patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year casting experience or 5 years Medical Assistant experience in outpatient orthopedics.
• Ability to instruct patients on cast care and orthopedic devices.

Responsibilities

• Apply, trim and remove casts and splints under physician supervision.
• Instruct patients on cast care and use of orthopaedic appliances.
• Assist physician during clinic hours with procedures and setting fractures as directed.
• Record vital signs, manage patient flow and assist with intake in EMR.
• Order supplies and maintain DME inventory in the clinic.
