Job summary

University Hospitals in Beachwood, OH is seeking an Orthopedic Tech to perform cast and splint applications, DME measurement and fitting, and to assist providers in outpatient clinics and the operating room.

The candidate will educate patients on device usage, support a surgical team, and deliver age-appropriate care from neonates to elderly. Requires 2+ years in ortho tech and a high school diploma, plus PHI compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
• 2+ years experience as an Ortho Tech or similar patient care role in a clinical/hospital setting (Required)
• Experience with casting/splinting, DME application, staple/suture removal, dressing changes, wound care, pin care, and traction (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of Medical Terminology, anatomy and physiology (Required)
• Ability to multi-task and work independently (Required)
• Ability to use and document in electronic health record (Required)
• Familiar with operation of standard office equipment (Required)

Responsibilities

• Applies and removes casts and splints as ordered
• Measures for DME fit and application
• Educates patients and families on usage and care of devices
• Provides clinical support in outpatient clinics and operating room
• Maintains patient safety and PHI confidentiality
• Supports learning environment and assists less experienced staff
