Job summary

Specialized Assessment & Consulting is seeking a part-time Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist to serve students with visual impairments at a Lumberton, TX school. The role supports 1–6th grade students with on-site services and evaluations as needed.

Responsibilities include attending ARD meetings and consulting with classroom staff to implement O&M plans. The position offers a collaborative, team-based environment with flexible ongoing guidance.

Qualifications

• ACVREP certification required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 2 years experience as COMS/O&M in a school setting.

Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS / O&M Specialist) job for a part time position providing services to qualifying students with visual impairments, attending ARD meetings, and consulting with school staff.

This job is in person at a school in Lumberton, TX (77657). There are 2 students on the caseload for therapy services and evaluations as needed in grades 1 - 6.

Qualifications for O&M Specialist / COMS positions

• Certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Certified O&M Specialist / COMS in a school setting
