The role requires strong organizational skills, meticulous recordkeeping, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. CDL holder preferred, with relevant regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in presenting and implementing corporate compliance policies and training.
  • Maintain training records and onboarding files to ensure DOT compliance.
  • Monitor Driver Qualification files, FMCSR compliance, MVR, and related records.
  • Record and report driver violations, citations, CSA issues, and policy breaches.
  • Provide CSA, Hours of Service, defensive driving training and audits.

Job description

The Safety Instructor must be knowledgeable in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations regarding License, Driver file maintenance, and Medical qualifications for driver. Maintain the ability to present information to new employees and/or contractors for successful onboarding. Candidate must possess excellent people skills, Be highly organized, and detail oriented. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision daily.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Assist with the presentation and implementation of appropriate corporate compliance policies, procedures, and training for all personnel. Said policies, procedures and training affect all levels of employees from drivers to Senior Management personnel in all areas of the company.Maintain training records and onboarding files to ensure applicants meet DOT regulatory compliance. Monitor and ensure accuracy of Driver Qualification records. This includes confirming proper compliance with the FMCSRs, MVR monitoring, and other records as needed.Report on and maintain records of all driver violations including, Citations, CSA violations, Out of Service Criteria, and Company Policies.Knowledgeable and able to effectively communication training based on CSA scores, Hours of Service, Basic safety, and defensive driving techniques, and must conduct other proactive safety related training.Complete onboarding audits for accuracy to ensure Compliance with Federal Regulation and Company policy.Maintain confidentiality of recordkeeping for the company Drug testing policy, Privacy of Medical records related to FMCSR 391.41, citation processing, and other compliance related items.Qualifications- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have an CDL or ability to obtain and must maintain a driver qualification file including entry into the driver random pool for drug testing.Language Skills- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively.Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Compliance management systems, Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite Products.
