Job summary

Stevens Transport INC. in Dallas seeks a Safety Fleet Supervisor to lead safety coaching for a long-haul driver fleet, partnering with Fleet Managers to reduce risk and ensure compliance with FMCSR/CSA.

You will review accidents to identify remediation, provide weather updates, arrange drug/alcohol screening, and produce regular safety reports, while staying organized under shifting priorities.

Qualifications

  • In-depth working knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations.

  • Capable of handling ambiguous situations with changing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Directly influencing safety behavior, driving performance and knowledge base of the fleet.
  • Reviewing factors leading to accidents and violations to identify remediation focus.
  • Addressing trending safety issues with timely coaching and intervention.
  • Responding to questions regarding policies, procedures, FMCSR/CSA interpretations.
  • Providing weather updates to drivers and office associates.
  • Setting up drug and alcohol screening as necessary.
  • Regular and ad-hoc safety reporting.

Department:Safety Training & Risk ManagementJob Description:JOB SUMMARY: The Safety Fleet Supervisor is a front-line manager responsible for providing training direction and safety coaching to a fleet of long-haul drivers with the goal of reducing overall risk. Work is accomplished in tandem with Fleet Managers and other leadership on the Operations floor, collaboratively focusing on safety related items (preventable accidents, citizen complaints, hard braking events, tickets, etc.) and compliance matters regarding specific drivers.JOB DESCRIPTION:Key Responsibilities:Directly influencing the safety behavior, driving performance and knowledge base of your fleetReviewing contributing factors to accidents and violations to determine focus areas for remediation, prevention and risk managementAddressing trending problem areas with timely coaching and interventionResponding to questions regarding policies, procedures, best practices, FMCSR/CSA interpretations, etc.Providing weather updates to drivers and office associatesSetting up drug and alcohol screening as necessaryRegular and ad-hoc reportingQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:In-depth working knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Highly organized and communicative - must be able to interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externallyAbility to perform in an environment with ambiguous situations, rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlinesProven record of making well-informed decisions in both routine and emergency situationsHigh degree of initiative and independent execution.
