Job summary

Hawaii Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company (HEMIC) is seeking an Organizational Development Specialist in Honolulu, HI. This full-time role supports the HR team by developing world-class talent, implementing training programs, and driving engagement across the organization.

The OD Specialist will build an internal learning academy, manage LMS initiatives, and foster strong relationships with staff while guiding culture, performance, and change efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, IO psychology, business management, or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years HR or OD experience; training program development.
• MS365 fluency; HR or learning tech experience

Responsibilities

• Design, launch, and manage internal learning academy with structured curricula.
• Oversee LMS selection, implementation, and maintenance; integrate with enterprise tools.
• Build trusted relationships with staff; lead 1:1s and focus groups; gather needs and feedback.
• Design and run annual employee engagement surveys; develop action plans.
• Create and deliver enterprise-wide training programs for insurance and business staff.
• Manage and participate in organizational change management and performance reviews.
