Job summary

Hawaii Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company (HEMIC) seeks a Director of Marketing & Communications in Honolulu. You will lead strategy across marketing, branding, and communications for the parent company and subsidiaries, oversee external relations, and drive growth with a lean team.

Responsibilities include brand management, digital and print materials, and corporate messaging. Requires 8–10+ years of leadership in marketing and a related bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8–10+ years of progressive marketing experience with leadership.
• Experience managing multi-brand or multi-entity strategies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of traditional and digital marketing channels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction, development and execution of marketing, branding and communications.
• Oversee campaigns, corporate communications and media relations.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships and cross-entity alignment.
• Guide community engagement, sponsorships and events across Hawaii.
• Supervise the Marketing Specialist and mentor staff.
• Partner with executive leadership to strengthen brand awareness and growth.
