Job summary

Life Connection of Ohio is seeking a Family Services Coordinator to advocate for organ, eye, and tissue donation, ensuring patient and family wishes are honored while saving lives. The role requires handling conversations with families, coordinating with hospital staff, and guiding through paperwork and policies.

The FSC works outside standard hours, supports emotionally during cases, and maintains thorough documentation while upholding HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the related field.
• Previous counseling, social work, crisis management or bereavement support experience preferred.
• Must be able to work outside regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for donation opportunities and obtain authorization.
• Plan family discussions and address barriers with hospital staff.
• Explain donation impact and guide families through paperwork and policies.
• Support donor families during DCD or other organ recovery procedures.
• Provide emotional support and follow up after donation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with hospital partners and other coordinators.
