Job summary

Southwest Transplant Alliance is seeking a Director of People Services to lead day-to-day activities related to organ and tissue donation, donor evaluation and management, and compliance with hospital and policy guidelines. The role involves coordinating referrals, organizing authorization processes, and guiding staff through donor recovery activities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing or biological science or related experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse, respiratory therapist, paramedic, or applicable experience and related training preferred.
• Minimum of one year of critical care experience.
• Must obtain ACLS and PALS certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-call coverage for organ and tissue donation.
• Provides assessment of organ and tissue donors and develops care plans.
• Facilitates referral/donor and organ recovery processes with critical care knowledge.
• Completes donor documentation in a timely manner.
• Obtains authorization and medical social history screening as needed.
• Applies age-specific donor management for multiple organs under guidance.
• Allocates organs in compliance with STA and OPTN policy.
• Assists in the operating room with organ preservation and labeling.
• Communicates with hospital services for donor follow-up.
• Attends designated training annually.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
