Job summary

Mid-America Transplant seeks a Hospital Services Specialist to boost organ and tissue donation at designated hospitals. You will build relationships with frontline staff and leaders to facilitate donation, respond to organ referrals, and lead process improvements to increase donor opportunities.

The role emphasizes RN experience, education, and collaboration with a Family Support Coordinator, with on-site scheduling and a strong commitment to lifesaving missions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Registered Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with hospital staff and leaders to facilitate organ and tissue donation.
  • Rounding as part of Hospital Services process to broaden support within hospitals, including off hours.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to increase donation through process improvement.
  • Assess donor suitability and manage potential donors to maximize opportunities.
  • Review charts to determine donor eligibility and collect donor information from documentation and clinical staff.
  • Offer families a dual-approach to donation in collaboration with the Family Support Coordinator.
  • Educate staff on donation processes and provide formal training to nursing and physician teams.
  • Develop and maintain donation processes at each hospital and report data to MA Transplant management.
