Job summary

Southwest Transplant Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Organ Recovery Coordinator to oversee donor recovery operations across hospitals within the region. The role emphasizes leadership of clinical teams, adherence to OPTN policies, and comprehensive donor management.

The position requires a nursing or allied health background with at least 3 years in critical care, with CPTC certification within 24 months. Strong communication and regulatory acumen are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing, healthcare, allied science, or related field is required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse, RT, or Paramedic is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
• Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) certification is required and must be obtained within 24 months.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in critical care is required.
• Experience in OPO is preferred.
• Experience as a preceptor in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Experience in leadership is preferred.
• Current Driver’s License is required and maintained with an acceptable driving record as defined by STA policy.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively in donor activity and participate in team huddles.
• Maintain donor management skills on-site during shifts and perform advanced procedures as needed.
• Oversee scheduling and staffing for direct reports to ensure adequate coverage.
• Ensure proper documentation of donor case notes and training plans.
• Coordinate donor referrals and site activities with clinical leadership.
• Participate in donor case reviews and quality improvement initiatives (PDSA).
• Provide direction to staff and ensure adherence to guidelines and policies.
