Job summary

United Ground Express is seeking a punctual and reliable Passenger Assistance Agent to support travelers at ORD Chicago O'Hare. You will pull assignments from the system, coordinate with Passenger Assistance Agents, and ensure all service requests are met in a courteous, timely manner.

This role requires fluency in English, strong communication skills, and the ability to work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Excellent communication and English fluency.
• Able to operate computer/tablet and enter data.
• Willing to work day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings and clearances.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pull assignments or work orders from computer.
• Work with Passenger Assistance Agents to meet service requests.
• Prepare accurate reports promptly.
• Maintain compliance with FAA/TSA regulations.
• Communicate with airlines, staff, and passengers professionally.
• Maintain records and reports; complete required documentation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Key responsibilities

• Pull assignments or work orders from computer, as needed.
• Work with Passenger Assistance Agents (PAA’s) to ensure all requests for services are met.
• Do all reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Must be familiar with all FAA/ TSA/Airline/Company regulations.
• Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
• Deal courteously and tactfully with fellow employees and passengers if necessary.
• Communicate effectively with fellow employees.
• Receive and respond to telephone and radio calls from PAA and employees in a professional and timely manner.
• Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from airlines, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required
• Maintain and distribute radios (where applicable). Always complete the appropriate documentation and reports in thorough and timely manner.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications and minimum requirements

• High school diploma, GED or preferred
• Minimum of 18 years old
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Ability to operate a computer/tablet to enter and retrieve data
• Must be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities including, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces
• Must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment
• Must be able to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
• Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal) per local requirements
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays; mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
