Job summary

Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Dental Care Coordinator to join our clinical team. This full-time role collaborates with dentists, hygienists and staff to coordinate comprehensive care plans and ensure timely access to services for patients.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in dental settings, front-office duties, and familiarity with dental insurance processes; strong communication and organizational skills are essential to manage referrals,

Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the dental field as a dental assistant or registered dental hygienist.
Experience working in a dental front office and with dental insurance plans.

Responsibilities

Consults with dentists, specialists, dental laboratories and community resources to aid patient in achieving oral health goals.
Assesses the healthcare, education and psychosocial needs of the patient/family.
Identifies and maintains relationships with referral and community resources.
Collaborates with dentists, patients, and the healthcare team, as well as community resources.
Triages and resolves concerns for patients calling in.
Provides resources and support related to referral process, including pre-authorizations from insurance companies.
Manages communication related to incoming and outgoing referrals.
Maintains required documentation for all case management activities.
