Job summary

Stratyx in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking a Field Support Specialist to provide hands-on Oracle hardware support for Solaris and Linux environments, including ZFS storage, Exadata, and Oracle Database Appliances. The role requires on-site service desk coverage, strong customer service, and the ability to travel to client sites to implement hardware fixes.

You will manage ticket queues, coordinate with data center staff, and adhere to contract SLAs and security policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in-depth troubleshooting of Oracle and Sun Systems hardware, firmware, and software problems.
• Experience with firmware and software patching of systems from Oracle and Sun Microsystems.
• Minimum of 2 years of in-depth experience troubleshooting Oracle and Sun Systems hardware, firmware, and software problems.
• Strong customer-facing service skills and on-site support.

Responsibilities

• Provide Solaris and Linux Oracle hardware support, including ZFS storage, Exadata, and Oracle Database Appliances.
• Provide on-site service desk coverage and assist customers via e-mail, phone, or Instant Messaging.
• Maintain on-site ticketing queue for hardware and software requests and create break/fix/work orders.
• Travel to customer sites to implement hardware equipment fixes (drive replacements, latency issues, power failures, connectivity, etc.).
• Coordinate with data center staff in remote locations to organize access for support.
• Follow government security policies and conduct weekly checks with customers on issues.
