Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, set up equipment, and support the surgical team. The role includes patient preparation, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting with instrument handling during procedures.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of acute care surgery experience, CST or CSFA credentials preferred, and familiarity with SPD sterile room practices. Onsite role with competitive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; experience in lieu of degree not accepted.
• CSFA (NBSTSA) and CST (NBSTSA) preferred.
• Medical Technician license (NH) preferred.
• 2–3 years of acute care surgical technologist experience required.
• 4 years as surgical technologist in acute care; leadership preferred.
• SPD Sterile Room knowledge essential.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Advanced sterile processing knowledge and policies.
• Familiar with medical terminology and supply items.

Responsibilities

• Participates in time-out procedures and assists in setup for surgeries.
• Sets up equipment and assists surgeons and team during procedures.
• Monitors operating room conditions and patient needs throughout procedures.
• Prepares patients for surgery and positions them appropriately.
• Manages supplies, instruments, and sterile technique throughout operations.
