Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team in Wisconsin. You will participate in aseptic preparation, assist surgeons, pass instruments, and help maintain a sterile field under the Second Assistant role when needed.

The role requires completion of a Surgical Technology program and BLS certification. No prior experience is required; attention to safety, customer service, and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in preparing materials, supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of operating room equipment and how to use it.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in aseptic setup for surgical procedures.
• Perform a variety of procedures and maintain knowledge of others.
• Ensure environmental disinfection and safety in the operating room.
• Function as Second Assistant as necessary.
• Notify staff of equipment and supply problems.
• Transport patients, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain specialty carts and ensure readiness of equipment.
• Assist in patient positioning and moving duties.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care and assess needs across the lifespan.
