Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support operating room procedures. You will set up and operate equipment, assist with sterile technique, and maintain a safe, efficient environment for surgeries in collaboration with physicians and the surgical team.

The role involves positioning and transporting patients, passing instruments, and ensuring adherence to infection control policies while supporting ongoing staff education and call coverage after orientation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months unless not required by leadership.
• Ability to meet Surgical Technologist I competencies.
• Familiarity with procedures and equipment used in the Surgical Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures and assist with complex surgical cases as applicable.
• Set up and operate equipment per physician specifications; maintain equipment and sterile field.
• Maintain clean, safe, and efficient operating room; ensure infection control policies are followed.
• Assist in instrument handling, gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments.
• Provide patient positioning and transportation support; participate in call coverage after orientation.
