Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team in Wisconsin. You will prepare sterile fields, assist surgeons, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic techniques, ability to set up and transport equipment, and strong teamwork under fast-paced conditions. Candidates must complete an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques for preparing materials, supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of operating room equipment used in procedures.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a clean, safe, efficient area for patient care and assist with aseptic techniques.
• Prepare materials, supplies and equipment for procedures; assist gowns/gloving and sterile field setup.
• Set up operating room for each case; move and operate equipment; return equipment post-procedure.
• Function as Second Assistant as needed.
• Notify staff of equipment and supply problems.
• Transport patients and equipment.
• Maintain specialty cart and ensure equipment sterility and readiness.
• Assist in patient positioning and lifting with proper technique.
• Demonstrate age-specific care knowledge and adapt to patient needs.
